Personally I find perfume posts the trickiest to write, it would be so much easier if computers had a scratch and sniff function. Scents are such a difficult and personal thing that I do think you should always sample a fragrance and never blind buy from the Internet regardless of a glowing review or not.
Prada Candy isn't a scent I would actively seek out and purchase for myself as I tend to favour deep scents particularly those of the Thierry Mugler variety, however I did receive the 50ml bottle of Prada Candy as a Christmas gift and I have been seduced by the light girlie scent.
The packaging is simple yet feminine, it's chic yet still has a pretty girlie feel.The only thing I dislike is the girl graphic print on the box, I feel it cheapens the overall look but I'm guessing that the print is aimed at the teen market.
In a nutshell Prada Candy is a light almost musky Vanilla type scent, it is sugary and sweet but not so much so that it would be out of place on anyone over the age of sixteen. Candy has top notes of musk, heart notes of vanilla and base notes of caramel and benzoin which makes it seductively sweet without being sickly sweet or sticky. It is the perfect day time scent in my opinion and one for all ages.
Have you tested this scent yet or perhaps you own it?
oooh i really want this perfume, the bottle looks sooo pretty! xx
ReplyDelete@the faerie glen - Have you tested it yet? :) x
ReplyDeletesounds like perfect scent for me. but your right the box does cheapen it, I would actually go so far as to find a diffrent box for it if i got it xxx
ReplyDeleteI adore this perfume, it's my perfect scent and I feel as if the scent lasts all day. I will definitely be investing in this!

I love it! Received the gift set for Xmas (after much hinting!) x
ReplyDeletelove how you theme your product pictures!! http://helloterrilowe.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteWell, technically I used the Christmas money from my Gran ;) x
ReplyDelete@beautybalm - haha i'm glad you got it. In my house hinting never works or perhaps i'm too subtle hmm... x
ReplyDelete@terri - aww thank you so much :) x
@stacey - it's okay i wasn't judging I buy myself a christmas gift with my own money hahahaha! x
ReplyDeleteI've tried this when I was working as a student in a perfume department store and the smell was fine but It really doesn't last long on the skin.
ReplyDelete@marilou - really? that is so odd, I have sprayed it on today and have showered and can still smell it maybe it is a person to person thing? :) x
ReplyDeleteI bought this in August, used it about 6 or 7 times and now I can't stand it? Loved it at first, defo a little too sweet for my liking. I'm a big fan of Rihanna's at the moment xxxx
ReplyDelete@alishha - I HATE when that happens :( I hope you have some one nice to gift it too :). I had a small bottle of rebel d'fleur and just couldn't get on with it part of the problem was I imagined it to smell like flower bomb haha don't ask x
ReplyDeleteI was always more of a body mist kind of girl. I think I need to start investigating to determine what type of perfume I favor. I tend to go for very light, bright, mildly flowery scents but i'm also attracted to muskier, softer, sweeter scents. If you had to describe your ideal scent type? What would it be?
ReplyDeleteI got this for Christmas too, i asked for it though because i had a sample from the feelunque box. It's my all time favourite scent, its so lovely! Not particually keen on the design though either, think it could have been better!

I looks great the bottle so cute, but I am not so into Prada perfumes, I would have to check it out! thanks for sharing!
ReplyDelete@eden - I like body mists but sadly they aren't as readily available in the UK as I'd like. I like strong scents i'm a huge fan of Thierry Mugler scents particullary Alien but in the summer I do favour light fruity scents such as DKNY Be Delicious x
ReplyDelete@Zoe - Ah i'm so glad you agree with me on the box aspect x
@silvia - Yes best to test it first x
Its such a gorgeous smell i really want it, i tried it in John Lewis! :P was gorgeous
ReplyDeleteI have wanted to get the Prada Candy for ages now ! Lovely post by the way , the bottle is too cute to resist !
ReplyDeleteDoes the scent last long or does it go away easily?! xoxo
@MrAjbx3 - its so pretty isn't it :) x
ReplyDelete@noura - I find it to be quite long lasting, I sprayed it on in the morning and had a shower in the evening and it was still on my skin after the shower :) x
I got this perfume for Christmas too, I felt like all my other perfumes were too floral and spring/summery so this one is a nice change, i love how sweet it smells but not too childish like you said, i think thats because of the musky and in my opinion metallic hint. I dont really know what that is and found it strange at first but its grown on me :) happy new year. Love your blog xx
ReplyDelete@mayumi - Happy New Year :) yes it is such an odd scent to describe to someone isn't it. Now you mention it does have a slight metallic scent at times, thank you so much :) x
ReplyDeleteJust caught up on so many of your posts. I feel really rude not commenting on them all. I'm always sneaking over to the prada stand to spray this at work haha.
ReplyDeletexxx
I really really wanna try this perfume! Thanks for the post :)
