Hello all I hope you had a wonderful Christmas for me it is back on the bandwagon,
that means back on the diet (groan) and back to blogging.
I was so busy yesterday that I didn't take many photographs at all...
so unlike me!
Anyway on with a review of Cargo Beach Blush in Tenerife,
I know this may sound odd but as Christmas is all but over my mind has began
to dream of exotic far off lands and sunshine basically I want to go on holiday haha!
I hate the packaging of cargo blushes the large chunky metal cases do nothing for me.
I despise the feeling and they are too bulky for my personal taste.
I may depot them if I can ever decide on which freedom palette to purchase.
Just as with all the Cargo Beach Blushes this has four separate blush shades
which I guess should you have a small enough brush you could use them individually
but your best option in my opinion is to swirl all four together.
The four shades are quintessentially summer tones,
a bronzed pink, a light peach, a olive based tan brown and a yellow beige.
The blush is matte formula which I feel is the best universal finish
as unlike shimmer or frost finishes this does not accentuate any minor flaws (pores/lines).
Another benefit of a matte formula blush is that you can also use it to sculpt the cheekbones.
Cargo Beach Blush in Tenerife is velvety soft to the touch but well pigmented.
I would say this formulation is on par with Mac Matte blushes which I personally
find to be some of the best matte blush options available.
It applies evenly and without any fall out,
although it is matte it does not apply heavily or look overdone.
The four shades of Tenerife swirled together produces a medium bronzed pink shade,
the only comparisons I can draw shade wise is that of Sleek Suede blush.
The shade is neutral toned so it will suit the majority of skin tones
but it could appear slightly ashy on deep skins thanks to the matte formula.
I guess it can also be said that Benefit Dallas gives the same effect, bronzed with a hint of pink.
Sometimes bronzer can look muddy and un-natural but Cargo Tenerife gives a natural effect,
it gives a healthy flush of colour yet warms the complexion at the same time.
It is the closest thing to having a real sun kissed glow without jetting off!
Product Summary
Round Up - A natural sun kissed pink bronzed shade which is matte and well pigmented.
Best For - Those who like warming up their complexion without overdoing it.
Pigmentation - 9/10 I have deducted a point as it would look ashy on deep skin tones but otherwise it is close to perfection in the pigmentation stakes.
Availability - www.beautybay.com - link, £16.00 for 9g.

I find it really hard to find natural looking bronzers. At the moment Im wearing Chanel Solie De tan but I find the packaging slightly too bulky to carry around. Tenerife Cargo looks more like a wearable colour though. :)
ReplyDeleteThe Sleek blush is actually part of the permanent collection! Unfortunately this really wouldn't work on my skin :(

@kirsty - I really want Chanel Solie de tan but it is so hard to blinking sorce ughh! It's alovely shade I hate the tin though haha! x
ReplyDelete@sarah - sorry about that I'm still in Christmas mode haha :) all fixed. Ah that sucks :( I have a few more Cargo Beach blushes to review so hopefully one of those will be better suited x
this looks so pretty! I've never tried a cargo blush before. Do you have any favorites?
ReplyDelete@kelly - I do actually it will be reviewed oh so soon ;)
ReplyDeleteI walked passed some cargo makeup in boots today, I have seen a few of their products that i'd like to try out, I think I will add this one onto the list as all the colours look gorgeous :)

@joselin - Ohh you lucky thing I hope my boots stock cargo and soon! Yes it is so lovely, a little piece of sunshine for the chilly months :) x
ReplyDeleteThis looks beautiful, I'd love to give it a shot! xx
ReplyDelete@melanie - they are all so beautiful :) x
ReplyDeleteI want to try one of those Cargo blushes but I find them too shimmery... I didn't know there was one matte with the name of the island where I live!!!
ReplyDeleteDo you know of anyone who has depotted his/her Cargo blush? I'm wondering how deep the pan is... if it will fit in a small Z-palette.
ReplyDelete@Papish -- I have the Tonga blush and it is a gorgeous matte "my blush but better" colour. It was my first solo blush purchase and I love it. It is a beautiful everyday blush. Cargo does make matte blushes.
ReplyDeleteI agree the packaging isn't all that nice! I do prefer matt blushers, bronzers and foundations. So i'm guessing id love this blusher :) Great review!
ReplyDeleteBooBooNinja ¡thank you! I meant mattes in the range of 4 shades-together blush like Tenerife ;)
ReplyDeleteI'll take note of Tonga though. There is no Cargo stand or where to buy it here, so I have to wait till I travel...
@Papish - Tenerife is matte but I think (and I say think as I don't access to them all) the other shades are mostly shimmer/frost. I agree I prefer matte formulations too! Yes cargo isn't easy available is it :( x
ReplyDelete@boobooninja - I haven't seen one yet but one of my cargo blushes has popped out by accident would you like me to measure it and pass on the info? x
@kelly marie - The packaging is just too bulky isn't it! Aww thank you :) x
I love the tones!! really nice blush! thanks for the review!
ReplyDelete@Adrienne I would so appreciate it if you could measure it! [I made the mistake of not researching my Milani baked blush before depotting... only to discover that the thing didn't have a pan! So... now I have a *beautiful* blush that is slowly crumbling. *sniff*]
ReplyDelete@Papish @Adrienne
ReplyDeleteI agree that Tenerife is matte as well. I love mattes and Tenerife is the only beach blush I would purchase.
The colours in this look gorgeous! I love that they are matte aswell, I think it's hard to find matte blushes :/

The pink shade is lovely! I used to own a cargo blush, and it was quite nice. :)
ReplyDelete@boobooninja- no problem :)I'll do it the morning and leave you a comment on your blog :) x
ReplyDelete@frances - It really is most are so bland and chalky x
@vintage make-up - It's such a lovely brand but the packaging sucks big time x
@siliva - you are most welcome :) x
ReplyDeleteOMG They named a blush after my neighbouring island! For those of yoo who are interested in that matter, Tenerife in one of the Canary Islands (Spain)laid in the Atlantic Ocean in front of the Morocco Coast. I write from the island of Gran Canaria and we take pride on our beautiful beaches and lovely weather ^_^
ReplyDeleteSorry about the touristic ad., but hey, you don't have a high end international product named after a place in your region everyday ;)
(but I wished they'd chosen Gran Canaria XD)
Cheers
@nevtheraven- nothing wrong at all with having pride for where you live :) I have been to the Canary Islands a good few times and loved it :) x
ReplyDeleteYour really obsessed with blush arnt you hehe
ReplyDeletei love this cause it looks like a ton of product
Wow! This swatches in a way that is much more appealing for me than it looked in the pan!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shades, its quite a reasonable price too!

Adrienne, I can't remember what MAC skin tone you have.
ReplyDeleteDo you think Tenerife would work well for NC20/25 colouring? I like a natural look and don't want this to come off too dark on me.
