First of all I'd like to say I sadly inherited my mammy's blonde and poker straight eyelashes and the waste of space that helped create me small hooded eyes, in a nutshell eye posts aren't my strong suit given what I have to work with so keep that in mind with all my eye posts!
From what I have read online Falsifeye mascara has received a mixed bag of reviews some love, some loathe. I'm slap bang in the middle, call me Switzerland as i'm neutral baby! I can't say I love it but can't bring myself to hate it.
Falsifeye mascara comes in a really pretty pink tube with reminds me of Maybelline Great Lash mascara, the packaging is simple pretty and chunky. The brush inside is an old school one no plastic molded brush this time but a fiber brush which I honestly prefer but my god is it HUGE! The idea behind it is that 'the over sized brush builds corner to corner volume for a full set of fabulous lashes'. The main problem I had was using the large brush on the inside corner eyelashes and my bottom lashes, it was near impossible to use without making a mess or stabbing myself!
The mascara itself is the perfect balance of not too wet, not too dry for me and it does really add volume if you have patience. To get huge false looking eyelashes you will have to apply a good few coats, I found three worked on me but it did take a while as it has a tendency to clump. Perhaps its redeeming feature is that it doesn't smudge, smear or flake once dry and today was a scorcher so it was put fully to the test.
Overall its an okay mascara and does eventually do what it says on the tin but the brush is more a hindrance than anything, its too big to be fully usable.
Now the free eyeliner the less said the better to be brutally honest. Yes its free but it lacks pigmentation and smears within minutes of applying but it was a gift with purchase so i'll leave it there.
P.S Excuse ze brows i'm growing out the slugs!
I bought this myself and really liked both products. I talked about them more on my blog. The mascara is amazing!
ReplyDeletethe brush kind of reminds me of the benefit bad gal brush head . . .
ReplyDeleteI was going to buy this but decided against it, glad I did now x
ReplyDeletei love the mascara but i hated the eyeliner xx
ReplyDeleteI quite like the old school style brushes too but I think I'll give this one a miss it doesn't look that great and the eyeliner... pah my Illamasqua one, heck my MUA one would eat that for breakfast with that pigmentation.

I like the packaging, the square tube is quite cool, but it doesn't seem to do all that much for your lashes! Great reviews :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so interesting as, and I hope this doesn't come across as spamming (and sorry if it does), Rox over on our blod tried this mascara out and the results after one coat were amazing - http://beauty-sparkles.blogspot.com/2011/07/17-falsifeye-false-lash-effect-mascara.html
ReplyDeleteRox does benefit from huge eyes, I wonder if this is why she didn't find the wand too large? Definitely having second thoughts on buying it now!

ReplyDeleteWait wait wait wait...when did the name change happen?! I was only gone for two days D; THE WHOLE WORLD IS UPSIDE DOWN.
ReplyDeleteI don't care for this mascara on you, it looks too ...globby? Psh. I hate free gifts that aren't worth the increase in price you KNOW is there.
I think the mascara did add somewhat volume..but it does look globby...and it defiantly looks like the eyeliner is sucky... too bad :(
